"Chao Fan" means "the stir-fried rice" in Chinese. It contains an scrambled-egg, roasted-pork, shrimp, onion, etc. It may contain other vegetables, meats, fish and shellfishes. It is a dish popular also in Japan. |
Nasi Goreng |
A popular rice dish of Indonesia. "Nasi" is rice. "Goreng" means the dish stir-fried in oil. Fried egg is on the rice which stir-fried with chicken, green pepper and onion. The dish has sliced-cucumber, cut-tomato and kroepoek(shrimp chips). |
Khao Pad Sapparot |
It's the pineapple pilaf of Thailand. Pineapple, shallots, onions, dried shrimp, raisin, garlic, ginger, chili, coriander and rice are stir-fried together. So pleasant looks! |
Bryani |
The dish at the time of congratulation in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh etc. It's a pilaf which contains chicken or mutton, and is seasoned by saffron, many spices and ghee(melted butter oil). |

The dish of Turkey. Rice, minced meat and onion are boiled. It is packed into a tomato and a green pepper and is boiled further with butter or olive oil. The vegetables used as a package are eggplant, onion, zucchini, cabbage, grape leaves etc. |

It is the dish of western Africa(Ghana, Nigeria etc.). Rice, chicken, cabbage and onion are boiled with tomato sauce. The taste of it will be hot, I have not eaten it yet. |

The dish of North Italy. The Risotto of my icon is mushroom risotto. Some kinds of mushroom and rice are stir-fried, and are boiled with chicken broth. There is risotto of various kinds, such as a tomato, a cheese, milk, and consomme. |
Paella |
The rice dish cooked by paellera(paella's pan) in Spain. Rice is cooked, with mussels, prawn, cuttlefish, chicken, chorizo, peas, paprika etc. Tomato sauce and olive oil are used. Saffron makes paella vivid yellow. |
Jambalaya |
Jambalaya is the dish called Cajun style food of Louisiana in the United States. Rice is boiled well by chicken stock --- with chicken, a sausage, a tomato, a green pepper, an onion, and spices. |
